Pure and Natural Essential Oils
It is widely believed that the sense of smell is one of the strongest senses that we have but at the same time it is also one of the most under-used senses that we have. Recent studies have shown that people react strongly to smell in the limbic part of the brain; This is the part of the brain that deals with memories and emotions. This is why some smells are able to trigger strong emotions and also physical reactions. An example of this is when you are able to sleep or become more relaxed.
Le Sol’s essential oils are 100% pure and natural. Our buyers have travelled around the world sourcing only the best essential oils. Once back at our premises the oils are further inspected and tested before being hand poured by our dedicated staff. Demand for our pure and natural essential oils has grown as the interest and awareness in natural skincare products and remedies has increased.
What are Essential Oils?
Essential oils are the natural fragrant essence that are carefully extracted from fruit peel, flowers, berries, leaves, roots and bark. If you peel an orange, squeeze a sprig of rosemary or smell rose blossom, the scent that you inhale is actually their essential oil. When these essential oils are distilled or extracted, you are left with concentrated scents that are able to promote physical and emotional wellbeing. That is why people use essential oils in combination with massage.
How are Essential Oils Produced?
Le Sol essential oils can be produced by different methods depending upon the oil.
Steam Distilled Essential Oil
Steam distillation is now one of the most popular and common ways of extracting essential oil. This steam distilled process is widely used for the extraction of oils from robust and woody plants such as lavender. Once the plant has been cut it is gathered up and put into a container or still where hot steam is placed through it. The process of the hot steam releases the essential oil from the plant matter. The steam which now has the essential oil in it is then cooled and the pure essential oil and water separate as oil and water don’t mix and you are then left with the pure essential oil.
Extracted Essential Oil
The extraction process is used on more delicate flowers which could be damaged by the steam process. Many flowers are too fragile and by passing steam through them would destroy them before any essential oil could be collected. For these delicate flowers a solvent extraction process is used. Solvents are needed to extract the natural oils and then the liquid is carefully dissolved in pure alcohol to remove the solvent. The alcohol then evaporates and you are left with the essence of the flower which is called an absolute.
Expressed Essential Oils
Some essential oils such as soft citrus fruits - lemon, lime orange and grapefruit - the essential oils are expressed. The peel is pressed to release the essential oil.
How Do I Choose My Essential Oil?
Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment and it uses natural plant extracts to promote health and well-being. It uses aromatic essential oils to help improve the health of the body, mind, and spirit. It can enhance both physical and emotional health.
In today's hectic society many people want to take a step back and lead a calmer and healthier lifestyle. Many people now use aromatherapy as a way of restoring some calm back into their lives. Using essential oils at home as part of your everyday life enables you to enhance your wellbeing.
